Can Film Neurologically Calm The Brain?
"The Maze Of Feelings!"
Mental health issues affect one in four people each year in England.
The "The Maze of Feelings!" is a neurocinematic project that comprises three films that explain the neurological link between anxiety, calmness and film.
The project proposes film as a biohacking tool that can be used to calm the mind.
Please watch the films at home, with headphones, and in number-order for the best results:
Film one "Fight or Flight" may make your heart-rate faster as it aims to create anxiety awareness.
Film two "To See Clearly" gives a scientific description to what may be happening in your brain.
Film three "Rest and Digest" aims to calm you down and lower your heart-rate.
To facilitate some self-evaluation you can monitor your own heart-rate while watching the films using tracking devices such as a Fitbit or smartwatch. By doing this you can collect your own data as you watch the films one by one and note if the films calm you or not. If you don't have a heart rate tracking device at home you can simply monitor your heart rate by putting 2 fingers on the inside of your wrist or neck.
Please enjoy the films, and re-watch film three as many times as you need as a biohacking tool.
